Model

As a multi-protocol control unit, the Central Station 3 offers the possibility of simple and comfortable control of the locomotives and of the entire layout with its high-resolution, modern colour touchscreen, its 2 controllers as well as its integrated central track diagram control panel. Up to 32 functions can be controlled on locomotives; with accessories, up to 320 Motorola or 2048 DCC solenoid accessories are possible. The Central Station 3 also has 2 built-in locomotive card readers (for storing the locomotive data on a locomotive card or for quickly calling up the locomotive by inserting the locomotive card), an SD card slot for memory expansion as well as an integrated loudspeaker for playing sounds typical of model railways. A powerful booster is integrated to supply the layout with power for running and switching. The Central Station 3 is capable of multi-unit working, i.e. with the optional cable (60123) additional Central Station 3 plus units (60216), each with its own network connection, can be operated together on one layout. Additional driver's desks, further layouts and keyboards extend the operation of the layout, whereby common and separate configurations for the layout areas to be controlled can be held in the Central Station 3 (plus). The Central Station 3 has 2 built-in USB hosts (for a mouse, keyboard or USB stick, for example), a USB charging socket, a network connection for communication with a PC, connections for 2 Mobile Stations, a connection for external loudspeakers as well as further ones for the Märklin bus system. S88 connections can be implemented externally by means of the Link s88 (60883). Load capacity at the feeder track: max. 5 A, load capacity at the programming track: max. 1.2 A. The Central Station 3 is only to be used in conjunction with the 60061 switched-mode power supply (60101 for Gauge 1 and L51095 for LGB) (not with transformers such as the 60052). When the 60061 switched-mode power supply is used, this gives a maximum output of 58 VA and a maximum current of 3 A (with the 60216 and the 60101/L51095 switched-mode power supply this gives a maximum current of 5 A, recommended exclusively for Gauge 1/LGB.
