Up to 32 functions can be controlled on locomotives; with accessory items up to 320 Motorola or 2048 DCC solenoid accessories are possible. The Central Station 3 also has 2 built-in locomotive card readers (for storing the locomotive data on a locomotive card or for quickly calling up the locomotive by inserting the locomotive card), an SD card slot for expanding the memory, and an integrated speaker for playing sounds typical of model railways. A powerful Booster is integrated to supply the layout with power for running and switching. The Central Station 3 can be used with several units, i.e. with the optional cable (60123) additional Central Station 3 plus units (60216), each with a network connection, can be operated together on one layout. Additional driver's desks, other layouts, and keyboards extend the operation of the layout, whereby shared and separate configurations for the layout areas to be controlled can be held in the Central Station 3 (plus).
