Prototype
Southern Pacific steam locomotive with a 2-8-4 "Berkshire" wheel arrangement. Basic deep black paint scheme. Running number 3505. The locomotive looks as it did between 1945 and 1950. One of 25 locomotives built with the distinctive Coffin feedwater heater.

With a digital decoder and extensive light and sound functions. Regulated high-performance motor with a flywheel in the boiler. Four axles powered, three of them via side rods. Traction tires. Locomotive and tender made largely of metal. Factory-installed smoke generator with speed-dependent, dynamic smoke output, can be controlled digitally. Headlights changing over with the direction of travel, with one lamp each on the locomotive and tender, will work in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. Cab and number board lighting as well as firebox flickering can be controlled separately digitally. Maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs are used for the lighting. With a buffer capacitor. Adjustable close coupling with a guide mechanism between the locomotive and tender. Close coupler with a guide mechanism and an NEM pocket on the tender. Engineer and fireman figures seated in the cab. Piping for the area below the cab is included as separate parts to be plugged in. Length approx. 31.3 cm / 12-5/16".
