Märklin 38175 — Class VT 18.16 Diesel Express Powered Rail Car Train

Class VT 18.16 diesel express multiple unit (SVT "Görlitz" design), as the heritage train set restored by SVT Görlitz gGmbH. Based on the version of the Deutsche Reichsbahn of East Germany (DR/DDR) from the 1960s and 1970s, as the flagship for international express services. 4-part unit. 1 VTa power car, 1 VMc intermediate car with a dining area and a kitchen, 1 VMd intermediate car, 1 VTb power car. Current operating condition from 2025/26.

Model

4-part unit. The train has an mfx+ digital decoder and extensive sound and light functions. It also has a regulated high-performance drive with a flywheel in one power car, all four axles powered using cardan shafts. Traction tyres. LED interior lighting fitted as standard, cab lighting, driver's desk lighting, engine room lighting, lighting for the kitchen area and wall lamps in the dining area can each be controlled digitally. The triple headlights change over with the direction of travel. They, two red tail lamps and the interior lighting will work in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. All of the lighting uses maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs. Multi-part interior details. Multi-pole current-conducting special couplers guided in a slot between the vehicles. Pickup shoe changeover with the power supply coming from whichever power car is at the front, depending on the direction of travel. It has a buffer capacitor. Many separately applied details. Imitation of the automatic coupler at both ends (non-functional). The minimum radius for operation is 360 mm. Length of the 4-part train set approximately 113 cm.
